Vest-A-Cop was formed following the shooting of  Officer  Hanly on August 30th, 2015. His life was saved due to the  bullet proof vest he was wearing that evening.   In an effort to insure that all first responders are adequately equipped with the life-saving tools necessary, Vest-A-Cop was formed to help raise funds to purchase vests for those who do not have one or cannot afford one.  In July of 2021, Sgt. James Nasella was hit by a motor vehicle and his vest protected his vital organs which in turn saved his life.

In addition, we raise funds for active shooter vests for all departments in Delaware County and as part of STOP THE BLEED are providing tourniquets and training to all departments in Delaware County.  We are offering First Responder Safety Grants as well. Vest-A-Cop will be hosting many fundraising events throughout the year to raise funds necessary to purchase vests and other life-saving equipment.
